"A Hot Night In Old Cairo" 2011
I remember the neighborhood where I was born. We lived there for the first four years of my life, before we moved to a "more modern" part of of Egypt, Heliopolis. The thing about modern neighborhoods is that they tend to be too quiet and to be honest, less fun for a kid. This painting captures a mental photograph that has always brought me joy... the bright fabrics of the laundry that was hung to dry on hot old Cairo nights.
